Thanks for posting this video link, Ken.  This is indeed a very helpful resource, especially for those who are just getting started building with pocket-hole joinery.

Also, a great resource as a refresher.

I'd be advantageous for one to peruse it two or three times, and then make some practice joints, using various work-pieces thicknesses and combinations of same; i.e., thicker to thinner and thin to thicker pieces.

Make practice pieces using plywood---it reacts a little different than solid wood, especially when the screw enters into the laminations, where splitting/separation can occur.

Jig settings for 2 ¾ x 1 ½ boards with 30 degree miters?
