Kreg Owners' Community

I realise that its considered not ideal to try and join 1/2" wood to 1/2" wood (oak in my case), but I have to make a simple draw carcas and the kreg jig seems the best way to go, as I don't have a table saw etc to make rabbets.

Can anyone confirm if carefully drilled holes and small fine kreg screws would work for me? If yes, any tips. If no, what's the best way to join the 4 sides of a drawer carcas given my very basic tools (i.e. no table saw). I already have the wood to size. I plan to make a test joint to see how it might work...

Thanks.

Russ be careful when drilling your holes the wood have to be 1/2" anything smaller will blow out on the egd's and remember hard wood you use fine thread and for soft wood you use coarse thread. If you need any help haller I'll get a e-mail.

Just to follow up, taking time and care I was able to join the 1/2" pieces together without any problems - thanks for the suggestions etc.
