Hello everyone my name name is Rick, I am a cabinet maker/installer I bought my first kreg jig in "92" back when they were made entirely out of steel and alum. I am in the process of setting up my own shop and hope to have things running by this summer. I see a lot of wonderful things on this site (great job everyone) and hope to have some pix posted soon.

My name is Michael, and I like to think of myself as a beginning woodworker.  My shop is my garage, and I only have the" basic" tools.  But, one of the "basic" tools is the Kreg Jig.  I love it.  I am glad this board is here to learn and get advice.

WELCOME ABOARD MICHAEL, YOU WON'T BE A BEGINNER LONG!!! It"s a great ride and you will find lots of information and meet many talented members.  It is good to have you as a member.

Welcome to the group Rick,  Great to have a new member with lots of knowledge to.  I'm a cabinet maker also for about the past 20 years. It is my second career and it is a great life and has much to offer.  I also have a kreg K-2 when they came out in about 92.  Great jig and I have used is professional and can't wear the thing out.  I modified it with an air cylinder clamp.   Even after numbers of thousands it is as good as it was the day it was built.  Looking forward to your project photos.

I just opened one of my Xmas present's.  It's the new Klamp Vise.  It's missing the Klamp Blocks.

When I called Kreg tool at 800-447-8638 I get the Thanksgiving Vacation message.  Then when I called the (515)597-6400 get the thanksgiving message.  Customer Service must be out of.....

Hi, I'm "Buela" - my youngest granddaughter couldn't say "Abuela" so she shortened it and it stuck as a nickname.  I'm a middle-aged techno-geek and I've always dreamed of being able to build beautiful but simple and practical things: A table, a bookshelf, a built-in reading nook, that sort of thing. My plans to convert our large 1930s garage to a serious workroom were sidetracked by unexpectedly raising our granddaughters (then 12 and 2), but now that the youngest is 5 I'm finally pushing myself to start learning and doing more. My only projects so far have been some hacked-together rolling storage carts for the scrapwood that I obsessively save, and a sturdy enough to survive an earthquake workbench built from some of those scraps. Of course, all of that got pushed to the side so that we could put the car into the garage when Irene rode through here - just after a real live genuine earthquake (which my workbench clearly survived) - but I digress.  I'm keeping my goals small and realistic. Right now, my goal is to build an inset cabinet for my bathroom, for which I'll likely a purchased door and face frame because I know my skills aren't yet up to the quality that I want for that room. One of these days.

Hello my name is Kevin. I live in Southwest Iowa. I had taken a break from woodworking as I had mouths to feed. I started back a year ago when I built a mission style coffee table with beveled glass for my wife's 25th anniversary present. A few projects here and there since. Most recently I built and entertainment center using some old french doors I took out of a house that was about to be burnt to the ground. Fell in love with the Krieg Jig on the coffee table project. Need to find more projects and uses for it.

Hello, my name is Gary and I have been doing woodworking since the 1970's when I was in high school. I now have a nice shop and am looking forward to devoting more time to woodworking. I have never used pocket holes before but after seeing the commercial I bought the master kit. I am going to buy the plans for the router table to do as my first project using the pocket hole jig.

My name is Jeff and I just got the K4MS for christmas. Compleatly new to wood working. I really want to get started, but don't know what kind of wood to use. I know some are better for tabletops, and others arnt. If someone has segestions, I'm all ears.

Welcome to the community, Jeff. Start with something cheap, readily available and easy to work with. Fir or white pine would be good choices. They won't necessarily make fine furniture, but will help you sharpen your skill set. Work the hard woods in as you go. Just remember to have fun with it and work safely. If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right.

Hello, my name is Paul and I'm here in North Dakota.  My brother gave a Kreg Jig set for a gift this Christmas. Over my lifetime I've built many things with nails and screws but never considered myself a woodworker.  With our long winters here and being stuck inside I think I will try my hand at building some useful items with this new tool.

Hi,

My name is Vicki and I live in Central California; I have been DIY'ing for many years and have always wanted to do more with woodworking.  I have a fair selection of tools, but have wanted a Kreg Jig for quite a while.  My children got me the Master system for Christmas and I am looking forward to learning how to use it.  I will be doing a lot of reading, and watching, on this site for tips and information.
