I am making a nightstand and my plans had very small text that indicated that i was supposed to place a shelf 1 1/2" higher than I actually placed it. The text was too tiny and I just didn't see it until I made one full side of my nightstand with the shelf in the wrong location.

Can I pull out the screw and move the shelf up and then re-insert my screw into the existing pocket hole in the higher location? Or do I just have to go buy all new wood and start over?

If I were to pull out the screw and re-insert it, I would be drilling it into the exisiting pocket hole, but drilling a new hole into the second piece of wood so I'm hoping it will work.

I'd just move the shelf up. you would need to patch the holes in the attached board unless you replace it though. No need for more pokets if I understand this rightl
Hi, John. Thank you. That's what I ended up doing...removed the screws, moved the shelf up and reinserted the screws.
