How easy is it to adjust router bit height adjustment with a Kreg Router Table? Can you do it ABOVE the table?

I have a Porter Cable 690 and 890 series routers.  Is the Kreg table designed at all to be able to adjust the router bit height from ABOVE its router table (at least for the 890 series?) or do you have to do it all from down under?

Thanks

Deac,

As long as the router is installed properly onto the plate you should be able to raise the router high enough to use the wrenches to loosen your bit.  If you have any other questions please let us know.

Well, my question was more aimed at the Porter Cable 890 which comes with a shaft/dial that goes  through the router table plate to adjust height.  Would I have to drill a hole in the Kreg router plate to allow that through? Or are there custom plates for common routers that are pre-drilled? Thank you

You would have to drill a hole for that. The Kreg router plates don’t have any mounting holes in them. They do have a template that will help you center your router though. Then you mark the screw locations and the location for the height adjustment shaft and drill the holes.
