I want to make a deck out of Massaranduba hardwood which will last for at least 25 years. Are the Protec-kote screws for the Deck jig durable enough to last for such a period, or should I go for stainless? I live in a rainy environment, but no salt or other corrosive elements nearby.

Jasper,

Unfortunately our Protec-Kote screws have not been around for more than five years so I would not be able to give you a 100% definitive answer.  The testing we have done shows that you should not have any problems for that span of time, but we do not have an actual deck built with them that has been here that long to get a true test.  The test deck that we do have is about five years old and they have held up in that without any issues.  The nano coating we use to adhere this substance actually makes it stick better and hold up longer than ordinary coated screws.  With all this being said, the screws should hold up and last for the time span you are looking for.
