<p>I use the 1/2" overlay Blum soft close hinges in all the cabinets that I build. The only other thing you want to get is a self centering drill bit and make sure you square the hinges to the door.</p>

Hi Trout. I too am upgrading my kitchen cabinet doors. All of the information that I've read so far seems to be pointing to Blum hinges. In your case a overlay (In going with 1/2" for ease of building door frames) hinge would get the job done. If you are doing yourself the cheapest Blum soft close hinges that's I've found are on eBay at approx $2.5 each ( buying in bulk at 50).<br />
