Kreg Owners' Community

Good Morning again Community.

I was wondering if it would be advisable to hang my Garage cabinets that I am making using a 45 Degree bevel or French cut using 2x4's. I will be screwing into a cinder block wall. Like I said in my last  posted question .... I am a new at this kind of Stuff.

Thanks So Much, Wayne

I have mine hung on 1 x 4 French cleat

Thanks for the info Chip, I think that will probably work better. Wayne

There are some videos on Youtube showing French cleats. They make an aluminum French cleat that has a very low profile (less than 3/8 inch) but I have no idea where to buy it. I was given some on a construction job years ago. I used it to hang some board and batten shutters on my house this past summer.

Thank You R.E. for your response, I will look into that. I have seen them somewhere. This might save me some hassle because I don't have a table saw and I think just using a circular saw would be a mess.

Have a Great week!, Wayne

Are you planning on putting anything below the cabinets?  Below mine that I built (check out my projects) I plan to add some tool board and so I fixed a 1 by 4 baton to the wall to sit the cabinets on which take the full weight.  I then also screwed the cabinets to the wall at the top.  The baton will be covered by the tool board (eventually) and to be provides a better option as it takes the whole weight of the cabinets.

Thanks Andy for your Help. Yes...Peg board and a Bench. I checked out your Projects and I think your Cabinets Look Great. A Real Professional Looking Job!

Thanks so Much, Wayne
