I had looked at the Kreg Jig many times and thought how great it would be to build something with it but never got a change to set down, plan something out, and just build. It turned out that my wife and child had to leave to go to a family event in so this gave me about 4 days to build something, went to the store picked up an R3 and some wood and started building.

My daughter was still sleeping in a pack away which she was out growing rapidly, guess they are not like turtles and only grow to the size of their cage, and she refused to sleep in the other bed that was in the room. When asked if she would sleep in a bed like at Grandma's house, a normal size toddler bed, she said yes. This gave me first major wood working project and my first project with the Kreg jig.

After measuring twice and cutting everything to length it was time to start drilling some pocket holes, everything went smoothly and amazingly fast. got all the side boards and even had to do some on the fly adjusting with the head board but with the R3 and a few screws an 1/4 was added for height everything was coming along nicely. 8 more pocket holes for the running boards and a lot more for the cross rails and the bed was complete.

All in all the Kreg jig made the project fun and easy and also a bed that my daughter loves to sleep in.
