Hi.

When setting the stop collar to join 1-1/2" wood, is photo 1 or photo 2 correct? (I ask this because my jig does NOT have a white line at the 1-1/2" mark). Thanks

Picture 2. I assume the white line where you set the collar in picture 1 is for 1 1/4" material. My older depth stops do not have a mark there.

Thanks James
Oddly enough when i use "position1" with 1-1/2" wood it seems to work fine. M.
Hi James....i just received a reply from Aaron at cusrt. Serv. And he said to use position 1 for 1-1/2" wood.
It makes me wonder why the jig doesn't just end at that spot. M.

Position 1 is correct. 1-1/4" material and 1-1/2" material use the same depth collar settings but use different screw lengths. 1-1/4" uses a 2" screw. 1-1/2" uses a 2-1/2" screw. Thats a 1/2 more of screw for only 1/4" more of material. Thats why they use the same setting.

Mike,

Picture 1 would be the correct setting.  Both 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" use the same setting for the depth collar due to the change in screw length. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Thanks!
