I'm looking in my project to build timber frame from 2" x 4", can I join board as thick as 50mm? What screws would you use?

Many thanks for any help?

Hello Jakub,

Yes, you can join boards as thick as 50mm with the help of Kreg Joinery. 50mm equates to approximately 1.9"-thick. We have a special jig, the Kreg Jig HD (Heavy-Duty), that is optimized for joining materials that are 1.5"-thick and thicker. You can learn more about the Kreg Jig HD on our website: https://www.kregtool.com/store/c13/kreg-jigsreg/p59/kreg-jigreg-hd/.

When working with the Kreg Jig HD, you will need to use specialty screws that are designed for thicker material, as well. We recommend using Kreg Jig HD Pocket-Hole Screws, which are designed to join materials that are 1.5"-thick and thicker. They are available in a 30-count package (https://www.kregtool.com/store/c22/kreg-jigreg-accessories/p218/kre...) and a 125-count package (https://www.kregtool.com/store/c22/kreg-jigreg-accessories/p217/kre...).

If you do not want to purchase these items online to avoid shipping costs, you can search for a certified Kreg Dealer near you on our website: https://www.kregtool.com/find-a-dealer/default.aspx. Simply enter your zip code to find a dealer near you. We recommend calling ahead, before you make the trip there, to ensure that they stock the product(s) you are looking for.

If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to the Kreg Customer Service Team directly. You may reach them by phone at 800-447-8638 or by email at customerservice@kregtool.com.

Thanks, and have a great day!
