I had some old feeler gauge blades in my junk box. Got some crazy glue and glued them together. They are just a little more than a 1/16th in thickness. I put this between the drill bit and my K5 block, tighten the collar and drill my holes. No more screws showing with 1" screws. Also, I am using the fine thread screws and birch ply. Don't like the soft AC plywood's. Don't use it cause it really stinks for project plywood. Anyway, just thought I would add my 2 cents.
